The hotel is centrally located, on the banks of the Nervión River and right next to the Guggenheim Museum. It is also just 250 metres from the Eskalduna Palace and 600 metres from the San Mamés Stadium.

Sheraton hotel
Designed by architect Ricardo Legorreta and inspired by the work of Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida, the Sheraton Hotel is housed in a strikingly modern red brick building. Inside, it is filled with contemporary art and models of Spanish ships. Accessed via glass sliding doors, the lobby is spacious and welcoming. The 211 guestrooms are designed in a contemporary style, with glass, steel, stone, and wood trimmings. Marble en suite bathrooms come with bathrobes, slippers, and complimentary toiletries. The hotel’s Aizian Restaurant serves the best of Basque cuisine, prepared by one of the most prestigious chefs in the area. Alternatively, the Bar features an outside terrace overlooking the Doña Casilda Park and offers the perfect atmosphere for relaxing or socialising. Chic yet intimate, this property is especially suitable for small groups travelling to Bilbao due to its large number of rooms.

Traveller from Henley-On-Thames stayed in June,2007
Comment
although a frequent traveller floor, the room was a bit scruffed (carpet and walls; we booked three rooms, only 1 was ready when our advance party arrived; the restuarant struggled to cope with folks wanting breakfast at busy times
Top Tip
the restuarant closes at 11:30pm which is too early if you have just returned from a concert

Excellent location,by the Guggenheim and near other sites and museums. Friendly staff and free gym and internet access for guests.
Top Tip
Breakfast very good- go B&B then tour the city! Rememebr the siesta, a lot of places close between 2pm and 4.30pm. Lots of places to eat though. Casca Vejo well worth a visit- old streets. Maritime museum good way to spend a hour.Look out for local festivals too and Basque traditions.

Hotel better than the web site. A great pool but we did not know to take cossie.
A very modern stylish hotel!
Used wine glasses left outside our room to be replaced but never happened.
Top Tip
Guggenheim exhibts disappointed @ 12.5 Euro entry fee each. Building 10/10.
Tapas available everywhere + glass of Rioja was cheap. (not in hotel)
Have a drink on the pavement with the locals at any of the many bars. Family atmosphere 19:30 to 20:30hrs
Pleasantly warm at end of Nov.
Food at airport not great.
